Measure Wood Thickness for Drain

What happens here
After drilling the pilot hole, the next step is to accurately determine the thickness of the wood where the drain will be installed. Insert the small drill bit into the pilot hole and mark the bit at the flush point where it exits the bottom of the stump. This mark will indicate the wood's thickness, which is critical for selecting the correct size and depth for the hole saws. The video demonstrates this by showing the drill bit flush with the bottom of the stump, allowing for a precise measurement of the wood's thickness to ensure the large drain hole is not drilled too deep or shallow from either side.
Goal: Accurately determine the wood thickness at the drain location.
