CAN YOUR DECK DO THIS?!
What happens here
Begin by selecting the desired location for your hidden wireless charger on a wooden surface, such as a desk, nightstand, or outdoor table like the one seen in the video. Measure the thickness of the wood at this exact spot. Most invisible wireless chargers are designed to work effectively through a specific range of material thicknesses, typically 3mm to 12mm (1/8 inch to 1/2 inch). Research and acquire a wireless charging module that is compatible with your desired surface thickness and your smartphone's wireless charging capabilities (e.g., Qi-standard). Ensure the chosen surface area does not have any metal components directly above or below where the charger will be installed, as metal can interfere with wireless charging.
Goal: Identify optimal location and obtain compatible wireless charging module.
Tools and materials
- Measuring Tape — Measuring the thickness of the wooden surface
- Pencil — Marking the chosen location
- Wireless Charging Module — The core component for wireless power transfer
- Wooden Surface — The surface into which the charger will be integrated
