Building A RECESSED TV WALL On A Deck!
What happens here
Before applying the finish siding, the frame of the TV wall is covered with a weather-resistant barrier like HomeWrap or Tyvek, secured with staples. This protects the wood from moisture. Around the TV opening, flashing is installed to prevent water intrusion. Dark slate-colored composite siding panels, specifically 7 1/4 inch wide, are then carefully installed horizontally within the recessed area. These panels form the finished back surface where the TV will be mounted. This siding is screwed directly into the plywood sheathing.
Goal: Weatherproof and finish the interior of the TV recess.
