Building a DIY Tiny Sauna On a Budget

What happens here

The presenter begins by outlining the project's goal to build an affordable sauna and introduces the area where it will be constructed. He then demonstrates cutting 2x6 lumber to size using a miter saw (Ryobi brand shown). These cut pieces are then assembled on the concrete patio to form the outer perimeter and internal joists of the 5ft by 5ft floor platform. The frame is secured using screws and corner brackets, ensuring it is square and stable. A level (Stanley brand shown) is used to verify the frame is level, with shims (small pieces of wood) added underneath as needed to compensate for the patio's slight slope away from the house.

Goal: The initial phase involves measuring and cutting 2x6 lumber pieces to create a sturdy 5ft by 5ft base frame for the sauna, including internal joists for support.

it so one of the first things we need to start working on a nice sturdy base uh we got a bunch of lumber here about 26 2x4s for our walls and all that stuff but for the base because it's going to be only 5 ft x 5 ft for the platform you could get away with a 2x4 from what I see people building sheds however I wanted to make sure this thing is super sturdy and doesn't have any Flex whatsoever so we're going to Beef It Up just a little bit with a 2x6 [Music] we got a nice sturdy base here make sure everything's level it's kind of tricky because the slope kind of slopes away from the house right this concrete slab so uh had to kind of shimmy up the back but overall I'm pretty happy with it let's go bring that o be start slapping
