What happens here

Focus on the material selections and paving patterns. The design utilizes one main paver type and one accent type throughout the project. Different laying patterns are employed to add visual interest and define areas: a herringbone pattern is used for the main patio section, while a running bond pattern is applied to both the back landing and the circular fire pit area. This variation in pattern helps to visually distinguish functional zones.

Goal: Enhance patio aesthetics and define zones through paver choices and patterns.

Tools and materials

  • Accent Paver Type — A contrasting paver used for borders or specific design elements
  • Herringbone Paving Pattern — A strong, visually dynamic pattern used in the main patio area
  • Main Paver Type — The primary paving material for most patio surfaces
  • Running Bond Paving Pattern — A classic, linear pattern used for landings and the fire pit area
