What happens here
Examine how the design addresses the significant elevation drop from the back door of the house to the existing ground level. The solution involves creating a series of steps and landings. First, a landing directly off the back door steps down to a main level patio. This main patio then steps down a couple more times into a lower, circular fire pit space. This multi-level approach provides clear transitions and defines distinct outdoor areas.
Goal: Solve elevation challenges by creating tiered patio spaces.
Tools and materials
- Circular Fire Pit Area — A dedicated lower-level space for gathering around the fire pit
- Patio Landing — Providing a flat intermediate surface for transition or seating
- Patio Steps — Creating vertical transitions between patio levels
