Battling snow for days.

What happens here

The project begins with an introduction to the snow event, which is phase two of a wet, sloppy storm. The primary strategy is to stay ahead of the snowfall by continually clearing it as it falls, rather than waiting for the storm to end. This proactive approach ensures that commercial properties, including coffee shops, medical facilities (like the American Cancer Society and Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis), and high-end accounting firms, remain accessible. The team consists of Blaine, Jake, Jay, Alex, Jason, Zakk, and Stanley (the narrator), operating various heavy machinery such as pickup trucks with plows, skid steers, and a Komatsu WA270 wheel loader.

Goal: Understand the snow event and implement a proactive clearing strategy.

Tools and materials

  • Komatsu WA270 Wheel Loader Komatsu — Large-scale snow removal and pushing snow into piles
  • Pickup Truck with Plow RAM — Clearing snow from parking lots and driveways
  • Skid Steer — Clearing tighter spaces and back-dragging operations

good morning one and all this is phase two of this sloppy wet storm and if it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of snow on the ground that's because there isn't yet we've got three to six inches of snow coming today and we are already all of us hard at work Blaine's in the truck over there my son-in-law Jake's running the Sledge we've got Jay coming in he's running the Kubota I'll be in the my Ram truck with the f-12 and everybody else is out here having fun so if you're wondering why we're already starting to work when the snow has not finished falling it's because we like to stay ahead of the storm and not let the storm get ahead of us uh so really what happens is when we come into these Lots we'll keep continually peeling off the snow as it comes down so that we just don't get overwhelmed in any way shape or form instead of letting it all fall and then doing it at once there does two things one that allows the traffic that comes in and out like we've got a coffee shop here they'll be here in probably an hour or two that lot will be clear when they come in yes the lot will fill up but then we'll continually do it we've got the Cancer Society here we've got to make sure that those guys can get in and out without any issues we've got a dialysis to beat a dialysis over there so we've got a number of medical facilities and high-end accounts that just can't we can't afford to have these people having any issues getting in or out of the building period so we make sure that we fight it right from the beginning to the very end which can lead for some very long days I know I'm doing a lot of talking that's because I got a little bit tiny bit of sleep and drink a lot of coffee gays over there in the Kubota already getting started on the coffee shop lot so without wasting too much of your guys's time we're going to take you along for the ride tonight we're gonna see how this thing goes this is going to be one of those storms that goes from night today back in tonight by the time this video ends I'm gonna probably look like I've been pulled through a keyhole and that basically means I'm gonna look like crap but it is what it is so you
