Backyard pavers #diy
What happens here
Using the Ditch Witch Mini Skid Steer, transport and dump crushed stone (typically 3/4 inch minus or similar granular material) into the excavated area, over the landscape fabric. Spread the crushed stone evenly using a rake to achieve a uniform layer of approximately 4-6 inches in thickness. Once spread, use a hand tamper (or a plate compactor for larger areas) to thoroughly compact the crushed stone. Compact in multiple passes until the base is firm and stable. Add additional layers of crushed stone and compact them until the desired height is reached, ensuring a slight slope for drainage.
Goal: Create a stable and compacted base layer for the pavers
