Initial Framing and Structure Setup

Anyone remember this project? It turned out pretty okay I guess π€#build #outdoorliving
What happens here
Begin by establishing a solid foundation for the outdoor structure. This typically involves concrete footings and piers to support the ledger board (attached to the existing house) and perimeter beams. Once the foundation is ready, install the pressure-treated wood floor joists, ensuring they are level and properly spaced according to local building codes. Next, frame the exterior walls using pressure-treated lumber for the bottom plates and standard dimensional lumber (e.g., 2x4s or 2x6s) for the studs and top plates, creating openings for screens, windows, and entry points. Finally, construct the roof framing, which may involve rafters or trusses, to establish the pitched or vaulted ceiling seen in the finished product.
Goal: Establish the skeletal structure including foundation, floor, walls, and roof.
