Back-Roll Exterior Trim Before Spraying

What happens here

Before beginning to spray paint any exterior trim, such as corner boards or window frames, take a small paint roller and a paint bucket filled with exterior paint. Dip the paint roller into the paint bucket to load it, then apply the paint directly to the trim. Work the roller back and forth along the entire surface of the trim to ensure even coverage and to fill in any textured areas. This process, known as 'back-rolling,' lays down a base coat and minimizes the amount of paint that would otherwise become overspray when the area is subsequently spray-painted.
