What happens here
Begin by sliding the new nut and ferrule (compression ring) that came with the new dual-stop valve onto the clean copper pipe. Apply pipe thread sealant ("MegaLoc") to the ferrule for an extra layer of leak protection. Position the new dual-stop valve onto the copper pipe, ensuring it's oriented correctly (e.g., hot supply at the top, dishwasher at the bottom). Use the angle stop wrench to carefully tighten the large back nut of the new valve onto the ferrule and pipe. Tighten until snug, but avoid overtightening, as it's a compression fitting and too much force can damage the ferrule or pipe. Finally, ensure both shut-off handles on the new dual-stop valve are in the closed (off) position before proceeding.
Goal: Secure the new dual-stop valve to the water supply pipe
