2-tier retaining wall

What happens here

For taller or heavily loaded retaining walls, geogrid reinforcement is essential to provide additional stability. Geogrid is a polymer mesh material that extends back into the soil, interlocking with the backfill to create a reinforced soil mass. It is typically laid every 2-3 courses, or as specified by the manufacturer's guidelines for your specific blocks and wall height. Lay the geogrid directly on top of a block course and extend it back into the compacted drainage aggregate, ensuring it is pulled taut. The video clearly shows the geogrid reinforcement being laid behind the wall.

Goal: Enhance the structural stability of the retaining wall by interlocking with the backfill.
