10+ TIPS Painting Doors

What happens here

Carefully mask off all areas surrounding the garage door that you do not wish to paint. Use a masking tool to apply two rows of masking paper underneath the door, securing it with tape. Extend the masking paper around the entire door frame, adhering it firmly with painter's tape (Frogtape and CP 199 Production Tape are recommended for clean lines). Pay special attention to covering the weatherstripping and any door hardware, such as the handle, with tape and crumpled paper to prevent paint contact. Finally, lay down a drop cloth on the concrete area directly in front of the garage door. This provides an additional layer of protection against overspray, especially important for those new to airless spraying.

Goal: This step details the crucial masking process to protect surrounding areas from overspray, including laying down masking paper and tape around the door frame and on the ground.

here so now I'm just about ready to spray the door just some added insurance yo really should have a drop cloth down if you haven't had a lot of experience airless spray and once again you'll probably see a lot of my videos where I don't use a drop cloth because you're overspray typically will never well say typically it's never happened to me where I've got it on the concrete with just two rows of paper but so I've got a drop off down now ready to go and I'll do some final taping because I see some spots where the tape pulled away down here from the weatherstrip I don't want to get any paint on these weather strips just check that real quick all right here we go
