What happens here
After implementing unrolling hay and drag harrowing for a couple of years, observe the long-term changes in the pasture. Previously poor soil with low pH (like 4) and covered in broom sedge will show significant improvement. Grasses, clovers, and other legumes will begin to thrive, and the soil will appear darker and richer. This demonstrates the success of using cattle as 'soil builders' where the hay provides carbon and seeds, and the manure (which is pH-neutral and carbon-rich) acts as a natural fertilizer. This regenerative approach minimizes the need for external inputs like commercial fertilizers or dewormers, as healthy soil leads to healthy, resilient animals.
Goal: Assess the effectiveness of regenerative practices in improving soil and animal health over time.
