Working from underneath the sink, loosen the three screws on the triangular mounting bracket completely. Slide the bracket up over the strainer body until it sits flush against the underside of the sink. Hand-tighten the three screws evenly in a rotational pattern to draw the strainer down securely. This will squeeze out excess putty from under the flange in the sink, which can be cleaned up later.
