Slowly turn the water supply back on and let the tank fill with water. As it fills, carefully inspect the base of the fill valve and the water supply connection for any signs of leaking. Once the water stops filling, check the water level inside the tank. If it is too high or too low, use a flathead screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw on top of the fill valve. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the water level or counter-clockwise to lower it. The ideal level is about 1/2 to 1 inch below the top of the overflow pipe. Flush the toilet to confirm everything works correctly.
