Begin by gathering all the necessary tools and materials required for the stair tread installation. This includes various cutting saws (circular, table, or miter saw with a fine-tooth blade), a rubber mallet, a hammer, a caulking gun, a finish nailer, polyurethane construction adhesive (do NOT use water-based adhesives), an angle gauge, a tape measure, wood putty, caulk, and/or clear silicone. Having everything readily available will streamline the installation process.
