With the new balusters prepared, the next step is to remove the old, broken, or damaged ones. The video shows pulling out old balusters by hand. For balusters that are glued or more stubborn, a reciprocating saw is used to cut them cleanly. Once the balusters are removed, use nail nippers to carefully extract any remaining nails that were used to secure the old balusters to the railing and stair treads. This ensures a clean surface for the new installation.
