After creating the first straight edge, measure the desired width for the stair carpet. In this video, the presenter states the stairs are 34 inches wide. Place the tape measure from the newly cut edge and mark the 34-inch point. Then, carefully cut along the corresponding 'running row' at the 34-inch mark, similar to the first cut, to create the first piece of stair carpet.
