Measure and Mark Treads — Identify the Largest Measurements
Part of project
Stair Tread Measurement · Step 6 of 6
In this video
Begin by accurately measuring the width and depth of each existing stair tread. For precision, especially if not using riser covers, use a tape measure and a pencil to mark the required dimensions on the new vinyl stair treads. A stair tread template tool, which helps measure both the width and angle of both sides of the tread simultaneously, is highly recommended for efficiency and accuracy.
