First, unhook the chain of the old flapper from the flush handle lever. Then, unclip the two rubber 'ears' of the flapper from the small posts on either side of the overflow pipe's base. Lift the old flapper out of the tank and discard it. Take the new flapper and clip its two ears onto the same posts on the overflow pipe. Finally, attach the new chain to an appropriate hole on the flush handle lever.

We're going to go ahead and take out this flapper. So we'll go ahead and remove this. It has a small clip on it. The clip style will vary from brand to brand or make to make. With this one in particular, just clips out of place on both sides. There are two small tabs at the base of this. And that will free up your old flapper. So we can go ahead and dispose of that. Let's go ahead and get the new one and get that set into place. OK, so we have our new flapper. As you can see, this one slides onto those two little tabs that are coming out either side. So we're going to go ahead and get that into position. Here we are. We have a tab over here. And apologize. See if we can get a better shot over on this side. And then this guy goes right on there. So then that one goes on that side and she's securely in place.
