Step 3 · Employ a Drain Snake for Stubborn Clogs

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

If plunging fails, use a drain snake (plumber's snake or auger). Insert the snake into the drain opening, rotating it clockwise while gently pushing it down. The snake's hooks will catch and remove hair and debris.
