Step 4 · Clear Any Jams in the Garbage Disposal

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

Use a hex key (Allen wrench) to clear any obstructions. Insert the Allen wrench into the reset hole on the garbage disposal's bottom and carefully rotate the motor shaft back and forth to dislodge any debris.
