Step 2 · Step 2: Determine Your Tread Depth

Using a tape measure, find the depth of your stair. This is the distance from the very front edge (often called the 'nosing') straight back to the vertical board at the back of the step (the 'riser'). A precise depth measurement is key to achieving that seamless, built-in look and getting the peace of mind that comes with a secure fit.
