Screw the new shower arm onto the pipe fitting by turning it clockwise until it's hand-tight. Then, use your adjustable wrench to tighten it another half to a full turn. Ensure the arm is properly aligned.

Turn Off the Shower's Water Supply
Before you begin, safety first! Locate and completely shut off the water supply valves to your shower. These are typically found behind the shower access panel or in your basement/utility room near the main water line.

Remove the Old Shower Arm and Showerhead
Protect your drain by covering it to prevent losing small parts. Apply penetrating oil to the shower arm threads to loosen any mineral deposits or corrosion. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then, using an adjustable wrench (wrapped in cloth to avoid scratches), carefully unscrew the showerhead counterclockwise. Next, remove the old shower arm, also turning counterclockwise. A strap wrench can provide extra leverage if needed.

Prepare the New Shower Arm for Installation
Clean the pipe fitting threads thoroughly with a cloth. Wrap the new shower arm threads with Teflon tape 2-3 times clockwise. This will create a watertight seal.

Test for Leaks and Restore Water Supply
Slowly turn the water supply back on. Carefully check all connections for leaks. If you find any, gently tighten the shower arm or re-wrap the threads with Teflon tape. Once you're confident there are no leaks, reinstall the showerhead (if removed).
