Step 3 · Remove the Old Garbage Disposal

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Loosen the mounting ring securing the garbage disposal to the sink flange by turning it counter-clockwise. Carefully lower the old disposal unit down, supporting its weight to avoid damage.
