Step 2 · Water Meter Test: Detect Hidden Leaks

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

To identify hidden leaks, shut off all water-using appliances and fixtures. Carefully note your water meter reading. Wait for 30-60 minutes, then check the meter again. Any increase in the reading indicates a leak somewhere in your plumbing system.
