Step 3 · Clean Shower Arm Threads

Once the shower head is removed, inspect the threads on the end of the shower arm. Use a rag to wipe away any water and debris. If there is old, shredded plumber's tape or mineral buildup, use an old toothbrush or a small wire brush to gently clean the threads until they are clear of any residue.
