Step 2 · Step 2: Measure the Width of Each Winder

Grab your tape measure. For each individual winder step, measure the width at its narrowest point (the inside of the turn) and its widest point (the outside of the turn). To find the final width for your custom tread, simply add these two numbers together and divide by two. It's also crucial to write down the measurement of the narrowest part of the step; this figure will be your base measurement to ensure a proper fit when you order.
