Step 3 · Restore Power and Test Garbage Disposal

Once you've pressed the reset button, restore power to the garbage disposal by switching the circuit breaker back to the 'on' position. Then, carefully plug it back in. Turn on the cold water and activate the garbage disposal. Listen for normal operation, not grinding or humming. If it still malfunctions, further troubleshooting or professional help might be needed.
