This step is crucial for ensuring the paint adheres properly. For etching, mix a concrete etcher solution according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply it to the floor. Scrub the surface with a stiff brush and rinse thoroughly. Alternatively, you can use a concrete grinder with a diamond cup wheel to abrade the surface. This method is more effective for very smooth or contaminated concrete.
