Step 3 · Replace the Worn Toilet Flapper

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

If your toilet flapper is cracked, worn, or doesn't create a tight seal, it needs replacement. Purchase a new flapper (they are inexpensive and readily available at most home improvement stores). Install the new flapper, ensuring it fits snugly and creates a complete seal.
