Step 3 · Verify and Adjust the Toilet Tank Water Level

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

The water level in the tank should be about an inch below the overflow tube. If it's too high or too low, you'll need to adjust the fill valve. This impacts flush strength and water conservation.
