Step 7 · Allow Second Coat to Dry and Sand

Allow the second coat of joint compound to dry completely, similar to the first coat. Once dry, lightly sand the area smooth with fine-grit sandpaper. Feather the edges carefully and wipe away all dust with a dry cloth or tack cloth.
