Step 7 · Test Heating Element and Thermistor

Using a multimeter set to resistance (ohms), test the heating element for continuity. A healthy heating element should show a specific resistance value (refer to your manual). Also, test the thermistor (temperature sensor) for continuity. If either component shows no continuity or an open circuit, it likely needs replacement.
