Step 4 · Repair Imperfections

Inspect all cabinet doors, drawers, and frames for any imperfections. Use a good quality wood filler to fill nail holes, cracks, or deep scratches. Apply the filler with a putty knife, pressing it firmly into the damaged area. Overfill slightly, as wood filler tends to shrink when it dries. Once the filler is completely dry according to the manufacturer's instructions, sand the repaired areas smooth using fine-grit sandpaper, ensuring they are flush with the surrounding surface. Wipe away dust with a tack cloth.
