Willys Jeep Rescue: Best laid plans...SOMETIMES FAIL!! Body Comes Off!!

What happens here

The handbrake lever is attached to the dashboard with what appears to be rivets, but are actually small press-fit pins. The presenter initially tried to grind off one end of the pin and punch it through, but discovered that wiggling the other end with pliers allowed it to pull out. He then successfully punches out the second pin with a punch and hammer. Finally, he unbolts a bracket underneath the dashboard to completely free the handbrake assembly. This step also reveals the extremely rusted and damaged condition of the Jeep's interior floor and custom-fabricated bracket that previously held the seats.

Goal: Detach the handbrake lever and assembly from the dashboard.
