All right, day in the life of an electrician installing a level two electric vehicle charger in somebody's home. I'm going to show you guys what a job looks like from start to finish. Let's go. So, the first thing I do is I take off the panel cover. Got to be careful cuz this is a live electrical panel. Then I mount the EV charger cord holster. This is a Grizzly EV charger and has a separate holster. Some chargers the holster is already on the unit like the charge point or the Tesla wall connector and you can just wrap the cord around the unit. But this is different. I mount the EV charger. Then I install my 3/4in flex liquid tight flex and my three THHN conductors. Two number six gauge hot wires and one number 10 ground because we are installing a 60 amp circuit breaker. This EV charger is capable of going to 80 amps, but we're installing a 60 amp circuit breaker because the customer has a BMW and that can only handle up to 48 continuous amps from a level two charger. There's my black and red hot wires. Green ground wire is on the ground bar all landed. We are just about to finish. I put the panel cover on, tighten the screws, and boom, we are finished. EV charger installed, customer satisfied. It's time to get paid. And that's what a typical job looks like for a residential electrician.
