Okay, day in the life of an electrician on a service call at a customer's home. Let's get right to it. So, today we're installing a smart infrared heater and a smart thermostat for a resident's bathroom. The homeowner said it was starting to get cold in his bathroom when you would drop a log in the toilet or brush his teeth. So, we're installing the infrared heater in the ceiling. The heater was 1,000 watts and we needed a dedicated electrical line ran to the heater and an inline thermostat. We ended up disconnecting the hot tub heater and using that existing electrical line for the heater. We installed a junction box to extend the 122 ROMX wire to the attic and dropped it down to the thermostat and heater. The heater was plugged was powered by a plug, so we just had to install a 120 volt plug. At the electrical panel, reabeling the panel to bath heater since it was no longer for the hot tub. So, here's the new smart thermostat. The customer can control the temperature just by tapping it or by his phone. Here is the heater all secure and mounted. And personally, it was a little tough getting the heater up. Definitely need two people to put it up as the heater is 40 lb. It's customer satisfied. Job complete. Took 8 hours into the night.
