WHY I Built an Escalade ESV Into a Drag Truck! (LSXcalade Was Originally My Dads)
What happens here
After continuous modifications, the Escalade gained recognition, especially when a video of it racing was shared by a major automotive media page (Roadkill Show) after the creator camped in it during Drag Week due to budget constraints. This viral exposure led to him connecting with industry professionals, including someone from Woolf Aircraft Products (now Woolf Fabrications), who supplied him with tubing to build his own turbo kit. This marked a significant shift towards more advanced fabrication skills. The ultimate goal became to build a Dart block engine with turbos to maximize power and achieve 10-second quarter-mile passes, symbolizing a "weapon of mass destruction" in the racing world.
Goal: Build a custom turbo kit and Dart block engine for extreme power and 10-second quarter-mile times.
Tools and materials
- Cadillac Escalade Cadillac — The vehicle receiving the advanced performance upgrades
- Dart Block Engine Dart — High-performance engine block capable of extreme power levels
- Engine Internals — Strengthening the engine for forced induction (e.g., CP Carrillo pistons and rods)
- QA1 Suspension Components QA1 — Upgrading suspension for drag racing performance
- Tubing — Custom fabrication of turbo manifolds and exhaust piping
- Turbos — For forced induction to dramatically increase engine power
- Welder — Joining metal components for the turbo kit
