What happens here
This video serves as a comprehensive guide for potential dump trailer buyers, highlighting crucial factors to consider beyond just the initial price. It delves into identifying 'red flags' related to manufacturing quality, explains the differences in structural components like floor gauge and hoist mechanisms, compares various trailer types like deck-over vs. standard, and emphasizes the long-term value of reliable dealer and manufacturer support. The goal is to equip buyers with the knowledge to make an informed decision and avoid common pitfalls associated with cheaper, lower-quality options.

(15,375 characters)dual ram and like you were saying how the weight of the Lord gets in the front of it you get a lot of calls saying I can't let them well that's because they lift it too much put too much dirt or too much product in front point-blank it's gonna be a question that I just want what's the red flag when these guys are buying a dump trailer what do they need to go I don't know ok so now we're looking at I'm not gonna name a brand right Brandon Superbus Expo the gaps in between them we're all salt girls cancer coming in it's already started for us as brand no it's just oh I mean lookit look at the pit bulls and they're not trained um I mean it's just the stuff that you get you get watching Jason just made a really good point all right so say it again Jason I sell iTunes we do buy it one of our competitors trailer so we can bring it in so you can show the differences and help sell our other brands so you're good trailers yep yeah how much you're saving okay yeah you might save $500 on this trailer but you can see why you're saving 500 others yeah okay great point all right guys today we're gonna be connecting with Sean from suretrack and Jason from M&G trailer sales Jason sells over 3,000 or M&G sells over 3,000 trailers every single year and these are the guys that are gonna help us understand the good the bad and the ugly in dump trailers and today we're gonna really get into the ugly we're gonna actually be looking at some of the features that guys are trying to pawn off as good dump trailers but in reality you may save 500 bucks but it cuz could potentially cost you a lot more in the long run so let's get into today's video can we look at a bigger trailer or a heavier duty trailer and compare and contrast yeah I was like we going to the next one I like yeah Jason be a good guy for this with this trailer it's a much heavier duty trailer what are the guys for that I mean when what is the price point we're gonna be looking at the biggest thing you're gonna get out this is the one piece 7 gauge floor which is gonna be well you know 2 times thicker than a regular 8 inch floor you know this would be 1/4 inch thick some engage the other things that they do is they do the paint versus you know the powder coat on them so they're gonna do a painted trailer in this state you know the paint could be a little bit more easier to pick to touch up and fixed versus powder coat which is harder to fix and stuff like that's that's why and also it's a local brand but these guys around here we're gonna use this especially with the higher sides ruffer's ciders that's the guys gonna fill this thing to the max guy that wants around a lot of boulders that's where the thicker floor comes in ok dirt gravel you mean everyday contractors run it I sell a lot to that guy doesn't mean or that telescopic works perfect for the guy for the dirt like you said for the powerlifting that's that's been prior a best-seller for lifting wise I have an issue with it or you know never get that call like oh my dump truck or my dump trailer don't lift up the dirt you know that I've never had a call on that one on tens of do it dual Ram and like you were saying how the weight of the Lord gets in the front of it you get a lot of calls saying I can't let them well that's because they lift it too much put too much dirt or too much product and front fish with your black dirt your sands and stuff like that that's easy to do have your duty trailer so you said it's great for boulders it's great for that kind of stuff but you're also gonna paint over $10,000 or ten eleven just one here a little over eleven thousand versus seventy five hundred bucks and if you're gonna be occasionally hauling boulders what I do in my own dump trucks as I Pat it with dirt I put a little bit of dirt in the bottom of that bed and I dumped my boulders right in the bottom of my dump trucks and I never had a problem right so if you want to save yourself a couple three three almost four thousand dollars well just use your head I mean it's as simple as that so you don't have to buy the heavier duty model if you can't afford it now if it's if it's for you then it's for you great but I just want to point out some of the things because there's gonna be heavier duty trailers out there there's gonna be lighter duty trailers out there and so when you guys are making your purchase decision it's gonna be good to know but also there's one other model that I think we need to look at and that's the over the deck alright guys we're gonna be looking at a deck over dump versus a standard dump and talking about the advantages and disadvantages now with a deck over dump it gives you the ability to fold these sides down and then you can literally set in all of your pallets Assad brick blocks whatever you want to carry what Jason what is a disadvantage of a deck over dump like this a higher center of gravity so you get the advantages of a dump trailer and the advantages of a flatbed for the disadvantage a higher center of gravity crappy trailers because we're we turned the cameras off and these guys are like Mauser go down to Georgia and buy a trailer right you want something cheap and expensive that's not gonna last you very long yeah how do we protect ourselves what do we look out for I mean a biggest thing of trailers it's an investment right so you're gonna protect your best friend you might know a good quality place that's gonna service it maintain it you know any questions you have about it you mean in a ways you know in the first bite trade a lot of guys are brand new I didn't they don't know what's what's going on why it makes this noise or why it does that so you call down there they be egg oh you just bought it have a nice day yeah and it's it cost I mean it's a cost thing you can buy factory direct from a lot of places now that's that's just going straight to consumer cutting cost cutting the middleman you use a lot of equipment guys watching this video you use a lot of equipment whether it's Club Cub Cadet Kubota you name your brand you have a guy that you go see typically yeah you got a dealer somebody that you're going to see for the service the education the knowledge and you're gonna pay a little bit more because those people know what they're selling so it's important to partner up with the dealer when you're willing to buy because this is an investment right you have an issue at that well you know they'll get a dumper as soon as again mu blank this is gonna be a question that I just want what's the red when these guys are buying a dump trailer what do they need to go I don't want that are we talking about thinner gauge floors thinner gauge tubing crop remember I need to know point-blank what are some of the red flags these guys need to look out for what exactly said the gauge of the steel the quality of the paint is how its applied is a huge process because there's a lot of them there from down south that pretty much just pressure wash the trailer throw the powder coat on and then the ship I'm up here and within a year or two it's all flaked off so what about the game to the floor once the gauge of the floor that we want anything very much less than 10 gauge I mean you get anything thinner than that and you mines a desert you know industry standard right now is much 10 gauge yeah some of these guys the mid so you guys are checking out earlier that's a seven gauge hh7 gate it's a little heavier just gonna take a little bit more blunt-force I guess if you want to call it that it's gonna be more durable but when I was looking at comparables when I was doing my research I seen floors that were 12 games yeah I mean so there's there's actual companies that are manufacturing dump trailers that are going out on a day to day operation with a 12-gauge floor and what they're gonna do is they're gonna get us through I mean one rock hit wrong you go right through the floor I mean that's the way it is I mean so if they're if they're compromising there they also compromising on the frame quality yeah in the world everything else I mean they're just trying to pump them all you know as fast as they can cheap as they can cookie cutters yeah and then in the wells - I mean yeah just the details of the trailers you want to walk around and take a look at just some of those fine details that most people may not look at right you know the quality of welds are they fully welded well good yeah show me show me little things I want to know I want to know like so like the shirt racks I mean they do a body seal on them so that you know no water nothing in here they've been thrust in there you know a lot of people that just tack well there you go and then leave it all and that's where a rustle start to come off with a stern flaking on I mean body sailing the baby sure I think sealed like a nice good coating you know it's the well it's continuous not spot welding here though dreams so the other companies are spot-welding Waldo just do like one side they look like this I don't know this tack well the inside so this is welded all the way up all the way around just the little things which little details that you will not you know average person would not notice they just see the dollar signs you know so if you're not looking not paying attention to quality and craftsmanship I mean you're gonna lucky $2 engine it's like it's like anything that you're buying there's a reason why the price is what is there's a reason why you're paying less there's a reason why you're paying more I want to know the reason so that these guys when they're out there going if they're gonna if they're willing to pay less they better be willing they should understand why they're paying less they're not they're not just getting a good value they're getting a pile of crap that's gonna be a problem down the road potentially a pile of crap that could be a problem down the road and it may not be what they wanted so that's one of the things that I want to point out so is there anything else that these guys should service from manufacturer I mean we deal with sure track just because we know they stand behind their product so we do have an issue with their trailer they're not to save all good luck to try to fix it they will say what's wrong here y'all will help fool there's something wrong with it axel don't stand behind it you know they if they know the man you pick it's their fault they'll take care of it so now all sir Trek has to do is either get you a cab ya can tell Jason actually sells all kinds of trailers so okay so you shot blast the entire trailer the entire trailer will go through a shot blast booth basically what that does it just roughs this surface up enough like when you're painting plastic you take sandpaper and kind of rough that surface up so your paint stick we do the same thing on this Dell trailer so you look closer they try to see it as hard to see but we do that before we wash it when the Saucony applause and every powder that way you're getting a nice a clean as possible surface but you're also getting the right surface itself to get that powder to stick okay so now we're looking at I'm not gonna name a brand right salt girls concern coming in it's already started your Russell's brand no it's just all I mean look at look at the pit holes and I did not going down I mean it's just the stuff that you get you get a lot and this is the this is the tailings that we're talking about we've got nothing sealed through here just look at that so those are here's some of the very blatant things that you guys got to watch out for when you're pointing it out and you sell it so we're not trying to cover anything up we're telling these guys straight up what they need to know Jason just made a really good point all right so say it again Jason I sell iTunes we do buy it one of our competitors trailer so we can bring it in so you can show the differences and help sell our other brands so you're good trailers yep yeah how much you're saving okay yeah you might save $500 on this trailer but you can see why you're saving 500 others others fairly yeah okay great point whose enormous research is on this thing that's I said short at you way back here but at least they got one on this at least I got them but the mainframe get your two but it's on its someone subtree oh my gosh okay to me that looks like a weak point until you see like bottom and I get made the way down south that don't deal with the elements that they do up to here man you know the northern part of the state us I mean I see I've been doing this for 15 years and I see this come through the you know the service bay I mean I've seen two-year old trailers that looked like they're 30 years old this visit can't handle the elements and something in a long run when you have all these seals and hoist and all you know fittings and stuff on that it takes a toll I mean the prefix on average right to hoist a year how the guys protect themselves biggest thing is greasing that's the number one thing that I see lack of maintenance is on these things maintenance is a huge part of dunkers you buy a dump trailer you better be prepared to do maintenance on it you don't do the maintenance time you're gonna spend thousands and thousand dollars to fix it I mean greasing the every pivot point on the trailer you know keeping the wheel bearings and all you pack and all that self brakes are huge I mean we go we do a lot of servile work on brakes and don't keep them adjusted properly they wear out 10 times faster I mean if you're just sitting there constantly running and never adjust your brakes it just is that's farther has to stretch more to know if this rips have had right off okay it's a vehicle yeah and then your vehicle I mean you're gonna service the oil you're gonna do all those things what you need to do and you need to do the same thing on the trailers it's Jason saying they're all we're materials the axles bearings that well that stuff needs to be checked on a regular routine and if you're up here in Minnesota where we're at you know here in a few months the weather's gonna be a lot harsher than it is it so you know particularly up in the north from the elements the stuff they're putting on the road just look more harsh than them down in Indiana so yeah you got to be make sure you're doing your routine maintenance just like you would your vehicle otherwise you're gonna run into problems all right there you go I want to give big thanks to Sean as they light up here and doing this with me thanks to Jason for pointing out the differences and helping us through this thing so now let's hear guys it's turn you you guys some of you guys have a lot of experience with dump trailers put it in the comments down below we'd love to hear from you because other guys are going to be using this kind of like a buyer's guide to help them make their decision and they're gonna be reading through the comments what to check out what to check for and that was the goal with this video so you tell me if we were able to do that and while I got you here do me one last favor guys check out the video here the video that I'm gonna put right over there by Jason hit the subscribe button and the bail notification it's up in one of the corners and that's all I got for today guys god bless and go get em you guys
