Lissa you're talking about phermones and this thing apparently attracts a yellow jacket with phermones what the heck is a phermone a phermone is a chemical signal that an insect makes so it's telling everyone else this is where you want to be and so it's making a chemical signal this lure in here is a very powerful Fone for just Yellow Jackets it's very species specific for yellow jackets in the western that's actually a Barone luring telling the the little yellow jacket hey come here come here and come inside yeah yeah yeah and they think the chemical signal because it's a u it's a it's a synthetic chemical that they found mimics that pherone they think it mimics the smell of the nest so that's why you don't hang this next to a yellow jacket Nest you want to hang this further out because you don't want to compete with your actual Nest but that's that's what they think is happening because it doesn't work if you put it next to a nest you need to put it further out right so that's pretty cool hopefully all my customers will be using these things cuz I'm allergic to hornets and yellow jackets so hang them around your house before I come to paint it
