We Went To Richard Childress Vineyards! (Monte Carlo Road Trip)

taking the monte carlo to children's vineyards today never been there before never been on a drive this long with this car before so you had to make reservations to go there so if we have problems we won't make it we have faith i think we'll be okay so we were going to take the non-highway way to see some scenic landage but we didn't get ready quick enough and now we're on the verge of being late by taking the highway winery tours have won you have to make reservations for this stuff it says we're gonna get there at 12 58. so we'll see if we can take some time off of the gps legally we already took one minute legally you see what you do is you just radius the turns better it cuts off mileage from the drive that's that's the secret this car does really well on the highway it's very happy here mostly because i think because the steering box and steering is so bad that at higher speeds it's less noticeable how bad it is because it's not twitchy like here this does not do anything to the car at all it's so bad and when you're at low speed it's even worse because you're just like just to go straight it's awful we're doing about 75 right now at 2400 rpm there's 373 gears in this car and the tires are like 26 and a half inches tall i think so it'll get better when we have the taller drag radials on there it's still 12.58 we're gonna have to radius some turns a little bit better every time you get over i don't know 50 miles an hour it flops down watch [Music] oh we need to change lanes let me just hold it here real quick okay we're good that's how we got to do it here because it just well we made it with three minutes to spare wow here it is right here i like the word vineyard you know why why because it's a fun it's a yard of fines and it's literally what the word says i don't know what you're supposed to go up or straight that says go that way okay well the shopping center's here too i didn't know that that's neat you know what's cool about richard childress is you know guys like rick kendrick jack roush they have other businesses that have propelled their success richard childress does not he he's made through racing i think that's pretty noteworthy because you know rick kendrick has a bunch of car dealerships and you know penske same thing among other things what a nice looking car a little park way out here or hopefully nobody should park next to it but you know what somebody probably will we went to target last night we parked at the very back and then like six people were parked by us after that it's like a bug light i feel like you're almost better off parking among people so you're less of a target i don't know i just don't want some soccer mom to smash it with her stupid crotch goblins that too i know if i park near a nice car parked in the middle of nowhere i'm probably driving something kind of nice too and i'm almost like taking up for the other guy like if i park here some idiot won't because that's how i feel about it i hope some other knowledgeable people would protect us too because you never know this place is neat this place is like more elaborate than i thought it was going to be it's like a whole last country club so it feels like i feel like everything here is fancier than me i'm talking about all this wine and stuff and throwing all these names of things i've heard before and i'm like i don't have any idea what this is i know what white wine is the red wine is because you can see it one's white and one's red [Music] but that's about it i don't know what's going on here it's really nice i like it but i'm out of my element by like a lot well like everything is really pretty and they like if you go on the tour they talk about like richard childress and stuff it's cool yeah well i understand that show his life story yeah that part i understand when they talk about richard i can relate to that but when they start talking about details of wine and stuff that's when i get lost and you get to learn things what did you learn i learned that 300 300 bottles of wine in a barrel what is it like 59.2 point something gallons and if it's more than that then it's a tank information i'll remember that next time i need to make wine what do you think about that one it's like strawberry jello it's good [Music] what it's like this face you want it's like yes it's strawberry jello that's what it tastes like well it does it's exactly what it tastes like yeah i like it i don't know i don't i don't know that i've eaten strawberry strawberry jello with a straw in liquid form that's like what it is that's alcoholic yeah that sounds like a pretty good time to me yeah i mean i don't i don't like wine i'm not like i never just stopped like oh yeah i really want to class hawaii it just doesn't happen but i think that is good i think we're gonna get some of this and keep it in stock in the shop that way when we gotta do some work or build something and it's frustrating then she'll be okay just keep you going like when i bash my head off of the boom tubes yeah make myself sick yeah yeah that's weird i mean rock stars do it i guess youtubers can do it too people drink beer while they're doing stuff all the time yeah why is that any like works well i was making a joke about you know like rock stars going on a stage where they got to be completely blown out on drugs or trash to like do their thing as obviously it's nothing like that but i was you know we are going to get some of that funny yeah i'm trying to be funny i don't know is it working let us know and they give you these pencils so you can take notes so we're going to make a note it's good [Music] good shh we're in a library [Music] definitely would recommend the burger it was good that's your salad it's good but now i look like the stereotypical [ __ ] that orders a salad well there's a lot of chicken in there look at that that's your daily dose of foodie stuff we don't do that here we're just eating and i want to tell you how it is this place is cold [Music] i've eaten lots of cake recently so i need some vegetables bounce out yeah i would just like to say my favorite part about this whole place is probably this truck would you just look at it what a freaking unit this is i bet richard bought this thing new he's lived a long noble life carrying grapes and stuff and dirt and other manly things and it's a five speed a dump truck it's a stick yeah pretty awesome also that's like where they make stuff in there that's like the squish room or something i don't know we didn't really squish the crepes yeah they do some squishing in there i had no idea this place has been around since 2004. i thought it was only a few years old because i had never heard about it before that is wrong if i take somebody's trash out of it that they put inside it let's please do not touch but there's somebody put their trash in it yeah you should take it out there's a gun rack on the back window yeah cuz america that's neat and we just pulled up here to take a picture in front of the building for the thumbnail or something and people were just glaring at us like how dare you make noise because it's all these people that just came here because it's a vineyard not because of richard childress yeah they have no idea who richard childress is they just like came here because wine and i'm going to take pictures and shake my ass it's like my girl wasted there's like two kinds of people here huh what model is your car the monte carlo i mean yeah 72. 72. nice thank you yeah see there's the other kind of people they know they like it so there you go thank you i guess the the lame kind is the minority here it's the ones on the patio that glare over yeah yeah either yeah something like that i don't know so we're pleasing more than we are irritating by rolling through here making a lot of noise all these vines would be a lot more funny looking if it was in the growing season i think this is like the first month of growing like the first of like the growing like fertilizing season he said in like june it'll be like popping there'll be grapes everywhere yeah i'd love to come back here we're like that edge cts three monitor in this car it's de facto dashboard the only thing it doesn't do is tell us the fuel level which the real dashboard still kind of does i'm going to take this up because it doesn't do anything anymore the day is not over yet we're going one more place that i think you guys are really gonna like this is the house that dale earnhardt grew up in and i always wanted to bring this car here because back in 2015 the first time i ever went to the children's museum we were driving back towards charlotte where a hotel was i saw a sign for kannapolis and i thought oh i think that's where dale earnhardt grew up i wonder if like you know maybe the track used to race out or something or house he grew up something was still there so we just took the exit and didn't really know where we were going we drove by this place when we saw that little stone three out front i thought man that's cool whoever lives there now knows what that place used to be i had no idea that martha earnhardt still lived there and we ended up going to this waffle house and i was looking it up and i found out that she used to live there and she like talking to people about dale and that she was the same age as my grandma and i told my friend sean who's with me he's like man i think we should go back there see if she's there she's probably bored he's like no man i don't want to bug her so we can't do that i'm like you know how grandmas are like they like talking to people you like my grandma you get her talking about something she'll just talk and she's happy as to be that's just so i thought you know what we're here we should do that so we stopped pulled right into this parking lot right here and got out and my friend was being like real lame about he's like okay dude man i'm too scared i'm like okay well i'm gonna do it so i got out and he followed me kind of hid behind me ring the doorbell and this little old lady opens the door she looks just like dale it was like no question that that was his mom and she was on the phone and she kind of like you know puts the phone down and puts her hand over it and she said can i help you boys with something and yeah i was just like uh we were just in the area and heard you like to talk to people about dale so we stopped by to see if you were around and then her eyes kind of got bigger and she just didn't say bye to anybody she didn't say anything she just took the phone and went boop what do you boys want to know she just hung up just like that she didn't say like i'll call you back nothing like i don't know if she was on an actual phone call or what but she just like whatever she was doing didn't matter anymore so we stood there and talked to her for a while and she told us about the siding on the house and how dale paid to put that on there she's like he's standing right where you were he said mom you're gonna fix the siding on here so he came and redid that it's like stories like that about how ralph built that garage back there which is where uh that was like the first place of dei for dale's cars um it was really cool and i showed her this picture that i had of me for halloween in 2002 when i dressed up as dale earnhardt with a like my mom made me a stick-on mustache and like put tape on some black jeans they looked like the fire suit and stuff and she just thought that was the coolest thing ever so she's like you boys want to see my trophy room so she actually invited us inside the house started showing us all these sam bass pictures and a little die cast that people gave her and telling her stories and showing her pictures of her grandkids and stuff and i don't know we must have been there for half an hour 30 40 minutes and then she's like i don't get visitors that much anymore used to but not really anymore um sometimes on race weekends but rarely and i was like oh well you know we're from pittsburgh but i'm sure we'll be back down here in you know at some point she's like oh well if you boys are ever back in town be sure to stop by and see me and i was like okay will and i hadn't been back here i wanted to bring this car here and take it to the tourist museum and stuff because i thought she would think it was cool never got a chance to do that because she passed away back in december which stinks because when we first moved here we didn't planned on bringing her flowers like right after christmas yeah but we kind of avoided coming here when we first moved here because of the you know i didn't want to get anybody sick or anything like that you just kind of you know you don't know so we didn't but uh in 2019 early 2019 i was coming back through here on my way back from somewhere else and i decided to stop by again and keep in mind she was like 89 and met me once for 35 40 minutes four years prior i go back up there and um she was like oh hey can i help you and i was like yeah middle from pittsburgh i stopped by here a few years ago and you told me to come back and i showed her that that picture again to kind of jog her memory and she was like oh oh yes it's like come on in and just like showed me some more pictures of her new grandkids and stuff and it was like how did this lady remember that she was 89. she lost him yeah for talking to me for 30 minutes that is nothing for four years and i come back here and she actually remembered that she talked about a lot of stuff a lot about dale i didn't have to ask very many questions she would just talk about what she felt like talking about and uh it's pretty cool i've never publicly told that story before but now i have and actually that first time i went there with my friend sean she said oh i got something for you boys hold on a minute and she disappears and pulls out comes back with these 2001 dale earnhardt hero cards and she signed them before she said god bless martha earnhardt i'll show you guys a picture of it and she said this was the last front of hero cards they did for dale and i still got a couple boxes of them so we have those i know sean still has his and i still got mine that's pretty cool i'll remember that forever this is it still uh nice and well kept up with those walls could talk it it's you're really silent here i feel weird talking almost yeah like you cut the air with a knife so we made it back now and we got a few more comments to add to the whole experience best salad ever they toss a good salad over there and you're not just making that up no it was really good yeah we were driving back and she was eating the salad the rest of it out of the box she's like this is probably the best salad i've ever had and i was like well that must mean something because i feel like you've eaten a lot of salads yeah i like vegetables i'm weird i'm just caught like that and then it like ripped more so eventually these are just gonna be shorts that's why i just don't understand the point of buying jeans with holes in them already well the hole wasn't like that it was up here well yeah but if it didn't have a hole at all then you would not be ripped like that at all you see what i mean yeah but they look stupid don't have holes in them because fashion yes fashion we must buy stuff with holes in it already i had a problem with jeans that had holes in them ever since i realized that people bought them like that on purpose also we just re-added these uh flex fit hats like the one i'm wearing right now and we have hats with this logo on it too that are mesh snapback so you can check those out on the website also i don't know about you but pulling up to martha earnhardt's house was like really depressing yeah it was really sad it was sad to leave if i'm being honest because it just felt heavy it did it kind of like took the wind out of my sails to sit there and think about it because then this makes me think about the rest of the world and how it seemed like you're in this place that makes sense and then all of a sudden 10 years go by and everything changes so progressively with exception to the last few years it's really been expedited that you just kind of take a look around and you're like man i'm i'm on the same piece of dirt but this isn't the world i know maybe it's just me being a downer but that makes me sad does anybody else ever like get caught down that that way of thinking like the world is just so much different now than it used to be and that's really what we want to preserve here with these kinds of videos is to pass along those the lessons and the stories and the habits and some of the things that made so good if everything else can change and everything else can get stupid we just want to keep i think some of that the lack of regards for others like it costs nothing to be nice to people you don't have to be a dick for no reason it just i think that's a lot of the problem it is so damn rude it is like it's disgusting like you're now you're more surprised when someone out in public is nice than you are when they're a jerk i'll hold the door open for four old ladies and none of them could say thank you okay i'm just gonna slam the door on you next time that's what happens is that you know then like all right well these people didn't do it so i'm not gonna do it anymore and then i still do it all the time well that's just a for example like that's the old ladies at the gym i remember that they're rude and i just don't open the door for them anymore because they don't deserve it well yeah them in particular but it it's it's sad whenever someone's of sourness ruins it for everybody else i don't know i feel like i don't know i feel like you have your one shot and you blow it then you're on my ship and you can kiss my ass but i'll be nice to you until you do that i feel like if either one of my grandpas basic like respect from me and i'm going to be nice to you but if you're disrespectful to me i'm automatically just [ __ ] switches on because you don't deserve for me to be nice to you [ __ ] switch you could put that on a shirt yeah that's funny yeah i feel like if either one of my grandpas could pop back into this world right now and see everything that's going on and be like dude what happened what is this i'll be like damn i'm glad i got old and…
