What happens here

This project details the step-by-step process of painting a garage ceiling and an accent wall, starting from gathering supplies, preparing the workspace, applying primer and paint, to adding custom details and final cleanup. It also highlights the humorous context of a surprise garage renovation prank on a friend.

JH and Garza said, you know, Cooper has a gun all the time. So, we've successfully invaded Cooper's garage. He does not know we're in here. Give it the night a little slather. He has clothes on, right? This is a bad time. It's decent. we didn't break your car. It's just being weird. I think he used a screwdriver to get it open. Set on fire? I don't think so. Where did he find that screwdriver at? Back seat. I found it. Got Milwaukee. Cadillac, Cadillac. Cadillac, Cadillac. It's a diesel. It was a diesel. When you turn it off, if you don't know what dieseling is, look it up. All right, we'll also get some roof paint supplies. Bronty just text me and said they just left. We're all set. What do you think we need? Buckets and kilts. Kilts, rollers, sticks for the rollers so we can paint while not being on a ladder. Yep. Drop cloth. Plastic covered cars, probably a couple hand brushes so we can do the diddy diddy accent work on the, you know, the sides and stuff. And a stirrer for the Milwaukee and some white lithium grease. Yeah, we'll grease it up for him. Oh. Boy, that's a big hood. Big girl. I don't know how to lock this thing. With the key? I'm going to put my stuff in the Tahoe. I trust it more that way. I heard they have a really bad crime rating in Bradenton, Florida. They don't. Oh, here we go. I don't know how much money's worth the stuff we got in here, but it's a decent amount. It's worth it, though. So, we've successfully invaded Cooper's garage. He does not know we're in here. Bronty is the inside man on this job. She stole his key. They are out getting the spaghetti thing right now. Our plan is to get as much of this done before they get back as possible. We originally wanted to do it overnight. That ended up not working out. We didn't realize Lowe's closed that early on Sunday. Now we're in here. Got to get some stuff unloaded, laid down some plastic over the cars. We had this thought of and planned out a few weeks ago, actually when we were coming back from racing the Escalade at Circuit of the Americas. Got a hold of Bronty and explained the idea. She's like, "Oh yeah, like let me know what I can do to help." So, this was originally supposed to happen before Cooper even knew we were in town. But, with the whole Escalade scenario and then Uncle Rob, we were just like, "We'll just wait until afterwards." And now it'll be pretty cool. You ready to paint some stuff, Dale? Yeah, boy. All right. Let's uh get cracking here cuz we don't have that much time. This is like garage renovation. If you let us use your shop, we will paint it. Plastic on the cars. Need to go find a ladder, but we forgot something to stir paint with. to find a giant paint paddle. That'll do, donkey. Start with the big sections first. That way we can spend a long time on the edges. But, if he walks in here before we're done and all we did is the edges, it doesn't look like we did anything. And then the cool part about this surprise is it's a surprise with work. So, he's going to walk in before we're done and then he's going to get to help us finish it. So, Wow. That's like the worst surprise ever. I mean, Bronty said this is something he wanted to do. We know Cooper, he's not going to do it. So, we're going to do it. So, change of plans. Bronty just texted me, said they're already on the way back from the sketti place. Way quicker than we anticipated. So, we aborted mission. Since we didn't even start yet, we're going to come back tonight and go back to the original plan of surprise in the morning. They're, you know, 45 minutes an hour away. We wouldn't have gotten enough done to make this a worthwhile surprise. So, cleaning house, we're going to hide all our stuff in Uncle Rob. Cooper's not even going to go look at it. Yeah, we're going to come back tonight and get this done the right way. It is 11:10. Man on the inside, Bronty, has just confirmed that Cooper is now asleep and we are set to go over there and get to work. Slept all day. Only 3 hours. 3 hours, whatever. Felt We're We're ready to rock either way. Thing we already have all the supplies there stuffed in Uncle Rob from our I guess botched attempt earlier. So, we don't have to carry anything through the yard, which actually worked out really well because he does have cameras and dogs. So, obviously Bronty's in there and she's going to make sure that he's not looking at any of that stuff cuz he's currently unconscious. We only want to make one trip to the backyard and that's it. Then once we're in there, we can set up, do our work. So, we're going to head over there now. Paint ceiling. Paint ceiling, yeah. Well, we made it in. Now we need to block off the windows so we can turn on some lights and get to work. She said we probably don't need to block the windows cuz the blinds are closed, but it felt like probably a good idea anyway. Yeah. If we can. All right, so we got we got the windows blocked. Got all the stuff out of Uncle Rob. Back in here. Bronty knows we're in here. We're good. Now we can turn the lights on and get to work. That's super slow gymnasium light. That's 400 W metal halide. The cool part is we already have the plastic cover for the cars. So, we already have a Camaro car cover with the antenna hole ready to rock. Why is my antenna white? What if he walks in and doesn't even notice? I'd be pissed. What do you think? He's going to notice. Oh, yeah. He's definitely going to notice. Dude, I'm pumped. I think right here is where we'll put the Bugatti logo. We'll paint that board white and I'll freehand it right on there. This ladder here was conveniently already in here and perfect for the job. Also, we got these telescoping poles. Both of us, me and Adrian, are not short people, but these things They're telescoping. See how tall they go. I mean, It's still going to be Oh, this is money. It's still going to be a little arms up, but It's going to be Glad we didn't get those wooden ones that didn't extend. We'd be I have no idea. We'd have to do like most of the painting standing on that car. Why are there dents in my roof? I don't know. Haven't been in the gym since we left Texas, so this will probably be a pretty nice shoulder day. I've never painted a ceiling before. I've done like garage floors with the roller, never a ceiling. Your arms are definitely going to get tired. Adrian's uh setting up uh the GoPro 6 for a time lapse of the whole thing, so Nice. Enough dinking around. I glad I could show you guys my pole. Now I'm going to get the other car cover on the drift car. And you know, it's pretty nice that neither one of these things really has like a very nice paint job and the Cooper doesn't particularly care about the way they look because, you know, a lot less stress on our behalf to do this. Still going to take care of them though. Got the football in there. What we got to off the plug that. We don't want to get any white spots on there. All right, so I guess we don't have a funnel, but we have that. It fits too perfectly not to use it. All right, I guess as long as we can wash it out. I don't want to waste that bin, but start pouring, Dale. Cool. All right. There's nothing. That just looks like a terrible idea. All right. Don't like this at all. Yeah, that's working great. It's not going to reach the top of the bucket like that. Could just pour it out of the bucket-ish. What the heck? It's not working. Because the bucket's not full enough to reach the top with it sideways like that. I have no idea why you're pouring it like that, but okay. I thought that's how you're supposed to pour it. Apparently not. Wouldn't it make more sense to pour it with the hole at the bottom, so you don't run it across the whole lid? Mhm. Clearly, I'm not an instruction. It would make this I don't know. See your master pour here. See, you get a little advantage. It's going to pour on it regardless, huh? Yep, pretty much. Here it goes for the inaugural swipe here. I reckon I will. Is that what you're supposed to do? What? I feel like you're procrastinating. What do you mean? I don't know. Just start Just start swinging it. I don't want to make a mess, man. Okay, cool. Now we're almost done. How's it feel? Well, I got it. I was trying to get my paint roller soaked up and you rushed me. You need more strokes than that on it. It'll start soaking up a lot better once this I think the package said to pre-wet the roller, yeah, but we don't have any water in here, so I guess we can't do that. You just plop it on there, you'll sling it everywhere. If you get it nice and saturated, you won't. This isn't the first roof I've first ceiling I've painted. Well, that looks pretty nice. Pretty nice. All right. Well, I'm going to put the camera down and get these other wheel cranking, so we can get some progress done. Anybody who's like, "Who's supposed to replace that?" Well, we're just trying to make the ceiling white here. This is not a This is not a precision operation by any means. This is primer. We've been going at it now for, I don't know, a while. I forget what time it is. Adrian's covered a lot more ground than me so far. I mean You got a lot more holidays, too, though. Holidays? Yeah. What do you mean? That is spots that are not well covered. Oh. Those are called holidays. Yeah, I was kind of moving like panel by panel. I know that one needs to get filled in some more, but I did these two and then moved over there. But, man, this is looking so much better already. Yeah. Cooper's going to Cooper's going to Cooper's going to poop his pants. Cooper's going to pooper. I would say Cooper's going to freak, but Cooper's version of freaking is probably going to go like this. Cuz he's going to open the door. He's going to laugh and go "You guys painted my ceiling?" "You know, I really wanted to do that, but I never got around to it. This looks really good. It's probably better than what I would have done. You guys painted my ceiling?" Oh, bad news. So, you know how I really wanted to polish his bullhorns? Yeah. Somebody else already wants to do it. They want to do the turbo and coat the housing and do the bullhorns. I was like All right. You told me that the other day. I was polishing his headlights. This is cooler. This is cooler. Ceilings live forever. I'm interested to see how that portion is going to go. Uh there was like some kind of mold up there and all that spitter spatters we've been spraying with a bleach according to Bronty. She told us that there was some mold up there and we were like, "You should spray it with bleach." preparation for this and she's like, "Oh, he already did." I'm pretty sure that's it's dead. It's just ugly looking. We're going to have to go around the chains and whatnot, but it's going pretty well so far. I'm going to stop procrastinating. I got to fill up my paint tray and get cracking. I think I'm going to work over this way now. There's no process to any of this, really. You just getting white stuff on the roof. That's the name of the game here. I'm making pretty good progress on the ceiling here. And it's still relatively early. So, I'm going to paint this piece of wood right here white. I'm taping it off so it's a nice rectangle. Then that's going to dry and I'm going to hand paint the Bugatti completely original non-derived from anything else lightning bolt ask logo we painted right here. Well, it looks like that one, but you know, it's completely completely unrelated. Okay? All right. Lanes and tape down. This is OSHA approved, by the way. I'm probably more precise about this than is necessary, but that's how we roll. Another update here. Now it is Man, I should really start taking note of the time it is before I start recording. I'm just not paying attention. Let's see. 1:49. So, almost 50 minutes after the last check-in. Here's where we're at. We got a lot of square footage covered. We got to do that. Little square over there. I got this painted up so I can get it to dry and then do the Bugatti logo in there. Adrian's creeping up onto the bad stuff the ugly part. This is really going to be the test here. See how the Kilz covers this crap cuz it's It's looking pretty good. It looks good. It may It's definitely going to cover it, but whether or not it'll take, you know, more than one coat, I don't know. Dang. It's looking so much better in here already. It's embarrassing. Dude, it is legitimately brighter in here. 100% That's like the the phrase of this week. I've noticed a lot of people say that. I've been saying it for a while. Ryan 100% Ryan says that a lot. I did notice that. I got it from Bert Kreischer. I realized I started saying it a lot. 100% Yeah, I guess we got my name. We really only have two or three thick panels left. Those two, that one, and then this will be some more detail focus oriented work right here. And I also got to go up there and then paint white up to the H back that way. But I'm kind of thinking we're making such good time here. Cooper doesn't wake up till like 6:00 a.m. cuz he's like a total dad and wakes up at 6:00 a.m. to like, I don't know, get the paper or something. I don't know. Put on slippers and Yeah, he put on his slippers and go out and get the paper, fire up some coffee, smell the grass, all that stuff. But yeah, we're going to have, you know, more time than we thought here. So, if we get, you know, detail stuff done, then we'll paint that piece of wood and that piece of wood, like do the whole top strip the back wall and kind of get up above that H back there cuz then that'll really brighten up that backsplash, too. And And then if we still have time, we're going to finish the drift car. And then if we still have time after that, we're going to find a cure for world hunger. Oh, wait, Cooper already did that. Yeah. He picked up like a bazillion Spaghetti, spaghetti. He picked up like a bazillions pounds of spaghetti. $20,000 worth. Really? $20,000 worth of spaghetti. Okay, so That's a lot of spaghetti and meat sauce. We can cross out world hunger off our list, so Cooper's got that covered, but at least we can help him see what he's doing a little bit better. Then once I'll say it again, no procrastinating, I got to get back to the roller. And I think we're all looking for freedom. It is now 2:40 in the morning. I remembered to look at the time before I started this clip for the first time of all these updates. We're doing stuff. Like this drywall tape. Apparently, Adrian just ruined the whole thing. You picked it up in broad darkness and you whipped it off. Oh, well. Are you just going to rip it off the whole way or like use the tape or use the paint to glue it up? That's what works. Or something like that. Have it? Yeah. I saw you do it over here. I wish I was filming for it, but I'll see if I can nail this. You're going to try to nail it? I'm trying to nail it. It is not the easiest thing in the world to do. The little cutback will ruin itself and just doesn't work. I just keep sounding like a broken record, but it is incredibly brighter in here than it was before. So, he's applying the first layer of glue. Okay? Oh, the little test spot right there. Yes, you get get it under it there. Oh, whoop, don't get it stuck to itself now though. Ooh, ooh, ooh. Oh, that was close. Ooh, we going to scoop it out. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Ooh, ah. It gets mighty soggy. Ah, like it. Remember Adrian, Mr. Krabs said not to get paint on anything but the There we go. Ah. Ah. Shh, man, he gets Remember Adrian, Mr. Krabs said not to get paint on anything but the wall. Especially not his first dollar. Here comes Here comes the tricky part. Here you, here we go. I'm also dealing with Hey, you want me to No. Oh, it's wet. That's what she said. Ew. We're missing the action here, but cleaning my fingers is more important. Oh, nice. Oh, my god. Stay. Oh, man. Yeah, give it that full court press. Bro. Oh, yeah. Give it a nice little slather. This video is a compilation of you just ripping off camera. Guys, the only thing he feeds me is protein. Bulking season. You know the deal. You know it's always bulking season. This is the only bit of paint I got on me so far. Knock on wood. I'm probably going to dump the whole thing. Let's bunch on me. What's that from? That's from when mullet was actually Oh. I don't know. He's out there. I don't know whose paint that was. He probably leaned on someone's bumper. I did. Probably mine. No, it was somebody that used a little orange. Danny Duncan? No, not him. What's his name? Whistling So, so we got to just get up around there a little bit more. We're getting it. I'm about to find like a tiny receptacle or something. Maybe cut a water bottle, cut the base off a water bottle, and bring that up there with me to hand paint up the white up against the HVAC. So, that's what I'm about to work on now. I had to put a second coat of paint on that cuz the first one dried and the wood kind of absorbed it a little bit. So, I just put another one on there. Should have time for it to still dry and for me to still hand paint the Bugatti on there before Cooper wakes up to put his slippers on and go get the paper. That part's real hard. Yeah. Kind of got to get up get up here and flex. Flex going to get it up under there, but we're getting it. We're like Basically done. Basically? Basically, we're like basically done. Yep. 100%. 100 %. Well, we started this at like 12:10. It is now 3:15, and we're pretty much done. Like if we were I mean, we're not going to be done cuz we got 3 more hours to do stuff, but if we had it done right now, we could be done right now. Then it would be acceptable as far as I'm concerned. What do you think? Yeah, for what we intended. For sure. I think I'm going to get up there on the ladder. Get a paintbrush. Just get it sopping wet and try to re-glue some of the some of the drywall tape where it's hanging down cuz the places where it did work, it worked pretty well. Just kind of wet it both sides out and rolled it back over the joint. Give that a shot. like we're a little light in some of these areas. I'll go back over those, but for now, I'm just going to itch my ankle where I got destroyed by ants at Cletus and Cars. Have you gotten bit by the ants yet? Nope. It sucks. Once you feel one bite, it's too late. There's already like 20 of them. You're talking about it and now my leg is starting to itch. Yeah, that's what happens. Now I'm paranoid. Every time I hear Every time I feel anything on my leg, I'M LIKE WHAT ARE critters here in Florida? No. I went to go uh one in JH's porta potty the other day and I stood up and I looked back and there was a frog sitting right at the backseat of the toilet. I was like, he was there the whole time. If he had jumped on me when it was dark, same thing at Kyle's from Booster Boys. You would have gotten out of there. You would have known when your turds came to life and out of the toilet. One in JH's. There was a lizard in in Kyle's. A lot of a lot of critters in Florida. There's a couple lizards in Parking Lot Triple 7, but the concrete jungle of Dallas does not have very many and I'm kind of took that for granted. Yeah. Now when I go back there, I'm going to go outside and be like, "Ah, there's no freaking mosquitoes. There's nothing here. It's just Just concrete. It's great. You can lay on the floor basically anywhere and you're clean cuz there's just no dirt. But Florida, we're out here in the wilderness. That's for sure. Yeah. Sand, soggy. That's all it is. So you're going to go up there and try to seal down some of that tape. Mhm. I'm going to go pee. That's what I'm going to do. And he's a loner bird. It is now 3:48 in the morning. Me and Adrian just kind of spent the last 40 minutes doing nothing cuz we can. Watching paint dry. Yeah, just watching paint dry. Really exciting stuff. Hopefully getting the garage Now He's uh there sticking that tape back down with paint. See, he found my little paint cup. Yo. It's working pretty well. I'm going to test and see…
