We ask Dumb questions at YANMAR !

What happens here

A skill challenge is set up using a Yanmar skid steer with forks to pick up tires and stack them onto a vertical pole. Rules are explained, including penalties for dropping tires or knocking over the pole, emphasizing precision. The presenter observes a participant attempting the challenge, noting their technique and the machine's precision capabilities. The 'Dual Direction Self Leveling' feature is mentioned as a tool to aid in this precise task, allowing the bucket to remain level whether the arms are raised or lowered.

Goal: The presenter observes a skill challenge involving a Yanmar skid steer stacking tires on a pole, demonstrating precision operation.

Now, back to the video. So, like I said, I'll I'll go inside the cab. I'll show you guys the controls. Um, whichever tire you want to start with is up to you. Uh, but no stacking of the tires down here and putting it on the pole. You're going to pick up one tire individually, put it on the pole. If you want to pull away from it and let it drop, that's up to you. The second tire that you put it up there, um, we're going to do the, uh, dual direction self-leveling. So, pick it up in dual direction self-leveling and drop it all the way to the bottom in dual direction self-leveling. So, that way you understand how it works in both positions. Um, once you dropped the second tire and you back away to where the machine's at right now, the time will stop. Um, if you drop a tire, it's a 10-second adder. If you knock over the pole, it's a 30 second adder. So, precision is key here. What's that? The dual direction self-leveling is he's referring to. It's a new feature. And a lot of a lot of companies will level that bucket as you go up. So, it always as you're going up, it'll always stay level. But now, Yanmar has it so it'll stay level going up and down. So you're never gonna tip it one way or another. So if he drops the tire, he loses points. If he knocks a post over, he loses point. It's all about precision. Really what they want to do is demonstrate the uh the self-leveling feature up and down and let operators get to experience that for themselves. There you go. There you go. There you go. There you go.
