What happens here
This is the final step in the paver installation process. After the polymeric sand has been swept into the joints and compacted, it needs to be activated with water. Using a garden hose with a fine mist or shower setting, lightly mist the entire paver surface. Work in small sections to ensure even wetting. The goal is to saturate the polymeric sand without washing it out of the joints. Once the sand is sufficiently wet, allow it to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically requiring 12-24 hours of dry weather. This process binds the sand particles together, creating a durable, flexible joint that resists weed growth and insect infestation.
Goal: Permanently lock pavers in place and inhibit weed growth
