Unboxing and Testing: FLEX vs Ridgid’s Best Combo Drill face off. Who will win?
What happens here
This series of tests focuses on driving and drilling with more challenging fasteners and bits. The first test involves driving 5-inch lag bolts using both impact drivers simultaneously. The presenter aims to see which tool drives the lag bolts faster and deeper into the treated pine block. Next, the same 5-inch lag bolts are driven using the hammer drills, with the Flex hammer drill again set to Turbo mode. The presenter notes the significant torque and effort required. Finally, a hole-drilling test is conducted using spade bits with both hammer drills, drilling into the treated pine block. This tests the tools' ability to quickly and cleanly create larger holes.
Goal: Evaluate the speed and power of both tool types with heavy-duty fasteners and drilling.
