tunneling underneath concrete is the act of a champion

What happens here

Once the trench and tunnel are complete, lay the drainage pipes. The video shows both rigid white PVC pipe and flexible corrugated pipe being used. The rigid PVC pipe is laid first, typically from the downspout connection point to the start of the tunnel or a junction. The flexible corrugated pipe is then threaded through the tunnel and extended along the remaining trench to the discharge area. Ensure all pipe sections are properly aligned and maintain the trench's slope.

Goal: Position all drainage pipes correctly within the trench and tunnel.

Tools and materials

  • Flexible Corrugated Drainage Pipe — Pipe section running through the tunnel and the rest of the trench to the discharge point
  • Pipe Connectors/Adapters — To join different types or sections of pipe (e.g., rigid to flexible, or multiple flexible sections)
  • Rigid PVC Pipe — Initial section of drainage pipe near the downspout or for long straight runs
  • PVC Cement — Joining rigid PVC pipe sections for a watertight seal
