Tub/Shower Valve Replacement Behind The Bathroom Wall

What happens here

The user assesses the work area, which is an open wall cavity with exposed studs and existing plumbing. He outlines the plan to install a new shower valve, which requires adding new wooden supports for the valve body, the shower head arm, and the tub spout. He notes the challenge of an electrical wire running through the studs, which will affect the installation sequence.

Hey folks that fix it guy here. Starting this project right we're gonna cut three supports. We're gonna put a drop ear up here, a drop ear down here, and then we'll tie in the water lines. It's always a bummer whenever you have electrical right here. I'm not moving it. It's a bummer because I was gonna build the whole thing and then just push it in place and screw it down. But I can't do that with this right here. So that's why we're putting the drop ear down there.
