Tractor University: Proper Mower Deck Setup for Brush Hogging

What happens here

Once the brush hog is attached, drive the tractor to a flat surface (like a paved area or a level gravel road) to adjust the implement. The primary goal is to ensure the brush hog's deck is perfectly level from front to back and side to side for optimal cutting. Adjust the height of the back wheel (also known as a gauge wheel) on the brush hog first, by pulling a pin and selecting the desired height hole. Then, adjust the top link to achieve front-to-back levelness. The host notes that the back wheel should always be pointing backward, and it's designed to swivel 360 degrees. The top link can also be adjusted further to allow for 'flex' when traversing uneven terrain, preventing the brush hog from digging into the ground or lifting too high.

Goal: Achieve a perfectly level brush hog deck for optimal mowing.
